As always here at HH, we do not always dwell on just the winners or top qualifiers. So it is we begin our Boise race coverage with a number of images captured by our Canon GL-1 video camera. They include the neatest images we got on day one of the 2000 Federal Mogul Div. 6 season opener in no particular order.


Eddy Palmer from Sacramento had this wild launch on his 91 Suzuki 1100. He ended the day in 3rd with a .409 reaction time.


From Regina, Saskatchewan came the very, very cool 252 FORD powered J/A driven by Harvey From. Qualified 7th with a -.245 8.72.


Jeff Lane rolled in late on Friday but still managed a -0.343 8.63 in the B/SR '34 roadster.


New ride for local veteran Ralph VanPaepeghem would end up in the fifth position Friday at a -.495 9.10.


Some new faces for 2000 on Dale Carlson's crew.


Always good for some of the smokiest FMD burnouts is Steve Federlin.

And you wonder why Mark and Lezlee Hentges are having a fun year...


Dwayne Shields of Las Vegas ran a fine 5.82/241 good for the second Friday position.


A new look for Dan McGlone, now encased in Camaro fiberglass as he toasts the tires prior to an conservative 6.21/201.56.


New nose art on Mitch Myers '99 Camaro is just too cool.


This was the only look we had of Russ Parker's new Avenger body as he damaged the nose on a wild first session 5.98/233.40. It was reported the new body's chute levers are in a slightly different place inside the cockpit, and on the fast run his missed them on the first wave of his arm. Just that millisecond error caused him to run off the end of the track with a late chute deployment. The wheat field served it's purpose as he was able to come back with last year's Got Milk body.
