As always here at HH, we do not always dwell on just the winners or top qualifiers. So it is we begin our Boise race coverage with a number of images captured by our Canon GL-1 video camera. They include the neatest images we got on day one of the 2000 Federal Mogul Div. 6 season opener in no particular order.

Merkley and Hopkins showing what Super Stock is so bad!

Salt Lake City's Cam Kallas in his 2000 S-10 SS/TB leaves just ahead of number one qualifier (-1.261) Steve Wann of Modesto in his '98 Dakota GT/TD.

Sorry, didn't get a number on this neat SS.

Here's one that I have been assured will never be 'officially' recorded in an NHRA record book, but HH thinks the quickest side-by-side Stock matchup in history is something to scream about. In the morning's first session, amid the calm air where the burnout smoke hung heavy, Joe Aluise launches to a 10.40/127.85 beside Bobby DeArmond's close 10.43/125.01.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota's Travis Gusso nabbed the M/S mark with his '88 Mustang at 12.382/105.14.

John Dalrymple broke the studs off the left rear, in round one of Super Street. His competitor broke out, so thanks to some good friends, John came back Sunday and went a number of rounds!

Thaks to Paul Nero in his beautiful newly painted Mustang and Brett Waldron in the well-know 'Thumper' Camaro for signing onto the HH video team at this race!

Coolest dragster in Top Comp was Jed Dubach whose 'Iron Butterfly' injected slingshot qualified number five at 7.62/172.31.

Next neatest (IMHO) was wild little '97 Brogie of Jeff Devey who pounded out a 7.67/173.57 good for the six spot.

Best Comp car at the 2000 Boise Roadster Show, the '87 Camaro of Star Idaho's Mike Coltrin, was 25th in the T/C field with an 8.20/166.17.

Here's what was in that trailer we passed on Thursday...

The '37 Topo of Ron Sellers from Spokane didn't make the show, but was a crowd favorite regardless. New motor WILL live on nitro...
