And finally, I'm often asked why so-and-so's photo didn't make it online. For the umpteenth time, following is the one, single MAJOR reason why. I'm not trashing these two particular people or 'most' other crew members who go out on the starting line to do their duty when their car runs. I do however have a small list of certain people who CONSTANTLY get in my way. I know some people do it by accident (and some even go well out of their way to stay out of mine, for which I GREATLY appreciate), but some people seem to almost do it on purpose. Sure I can move (I do all the time), but so can they in many cases. It's always 'fun' when I move...then they move...then I move again...sure as heck they do too. The record this past weekend was four moves in about 15 seconds before I gave up. I know for certain a few cars will NEVER see a photo anywhere as there are people associated with them who obviously feel photographers on the line are a pain in the ass. For them I (and others) don't waste time or film.

For (especially) sponsored racers who need exposure, I advise you to please tell your crew to at least make a slight attempt to look for not just me, but all photographers, who in many cases, are doing you a favor by giving you free publicity.

Then there are the 'amateur' photogs who go out and make like they should be there, (and get so pissed when they are asked to leave that I nearly barf in disgust) who do nothing more than get in the way in often very dangerous positions. Or the one's who basically do it for a hobby, (and with a PRESS pass mind you) give away, or sell very cheap pictures that do nothing more than help put people like me out of business. I have no trouble mentioning (again) that Mission is still the worst track in the Division for this. New rules I experienced at Firebird this April are easily the best, and should be followed by all drag strips.

Sorry, but when I try to do my business and get screwed, I have to vent. LP
