I recall in the late sixties watching the Beebe Bros. Crosley altered tear up Van Isle Dragways. Some thirty years later Kerry is still at it, this time in a cool blown Top Comp digger. He would end up 5th with a 7.71/144.67 charge before breaking the rear end.

Barling showed here with big baloneys and bigger wheelstands. "We could see both sides of the car last week at Mission...from behind" said a crew member of a couple of very squirrly runs. Although Brian wanted to keep the old look, the new rubber makes for a much safer ride.

Gary Faul was here with gorgeous former D/SA 1998 Firebird of the Thompson Bros. Qualified into the 14 spot with an -0.781 11.299.

Dave Wren was handling Mike Booker's awesome SS/BA '64 Plymouth. On this run he got very close to the wall after another of those patented Wren wheels-up launches, but the old master hauled it in to try again. He would qualify 6th with a -0.824 9.576.

They were trying to clam it down...honest! To no avail however as Jimmy Ezell was easily the wheelie champion of this event with a number of leaves like this. The '84 Camaro would be down in the 21st position in qualifying with a -0.362 10.238 for the wild GT/AA.

Nice pair of Super Gas cars. The Rip City Mustang of Bill Heard and Bill Evans' Chevy II.

One of my favorite Div. 6 cars, Johnny Gross' S/G roadster.

'White Wall' Willie Skillings (of MRP large four-door Sportsman Fords...and staging lanes fame...) took his turn at the tree on Friday.

Thanks to Carlson's flash fill this shot of Bob Behnke beside son Jim looks even better.

Dwayne Neuman had his cool injected alcohol Vega panel running in Super Pro.

The famous 'Trapmate' 1970 Cuda of Rod Hanner from Calgary. Hemi SS/FA car ran -0.718 10.142 to make it into the number 12 position.

The stout '66 El Camino of Mark Faul qualified 5th with a -0.832 11.558, but was surprisingly gone early in eliminations.

"After this pass I'm chaining the hood closed and locking it up" said Jody Lang in reference to the tinkering of car owner John Heida who was standing right beside him. Qualified in 'lucky' 13th spot with a -0.717 10.603, the GT/FA '85 Mustang broke on the line in an early round.
