22nd Annual Federal Mogul Drag Racing Series
Brought to you by Les Schwab Tires & KPTV Oregon's 12
Woodburn 1999 Federal-Mogul official results here.

RR having some fun at the trophy shoot.

Rob Robinson put on a show in the final when he singled to a wheelstanding
8.41/160.25 in the neat C/EA Olds.

Runner-up Tommy Brown from Portland unfortunately had his 188 inch
Chevy-powered F/ED back in the pit for the final with some broken
pieces.

About the biggest wheelstand we've seen from Mike Cherry's E/A
Monza came in the first round on Saturday. He would qualify 13th
in the 18 car show with a -0.089 8.70.

Kurt Cruise in his bad-to-da-bone C/EA 97 Trans Am. He was number
12 with a -0.188 8.62.

Alan Freese put his C/EA '90 Grand Prix into the program in the
4th spot ( -0.453 8.357) then went to the semis, fouling against
Brown. Here he is prior to a second round victory over Doug Lambeck.

Ron Schuster brought his C/D out of Salem, Oregon to qualify into
the number 11 spot with a -0.215 7.485.

Very cool nostalgia-like 1967 Nova C/A of Randy Goff from Las Vegas.
Qualified 17th at 8.87.

The 'Return of Igor' was short lived for North Vancouver's Rob
Harrison. Sorry I didn't get any further details.

Yorba Linda's Rich Howell put his B/A into the three spot with
a -0.455 7.41, but obviously suffered problems as this is just the
early view of what later appeared to be a total tear down.

Second qualifier at -0.476 9.47 was Brian Hyerstay.

Number one qualifier Jim Kennedy (-0.498 8.64) in his F/A '97 Trans
Am goes up against the BB/A of Chuck Smithfield (#14 -0.040 8.000)
in qualifying action.

The C/A of Talent Oregon's Dean Lindvig made it's first 1999 Div.
6 appearance qualifying into the 16 position with an 8.46.

He's seen here ahead of the G/A '92 Firebird of Nick Jondahl (#7
-0.442 9.01) during first round actiuon on Saturday. Jondahl moved
on.

The Perkin Bros. were on hand with their Buick powered B/SM '87
Trans Am. Qualified 8th with a -0.410 8.96 went one round before
falling to Freese.
