NOTE: Our thanks to Jay and team for helping us all have some fun with this. Jay stated that from the first day HH posted info on this the interest went completely crazy, with people calling, emailing and trying to get into Joey's for a look...To the best of my knowledge it worked out pretty well for everyone involved. Thanks again guys, now I can't wait to see this thing go to the 1/8th mile mark on one of thise famous IBAA burnouts! LP Dear HH readers: I think HH is the greatest page going, and gives all drag racers something to be proud of. It seems to tie all of us Div sixers together. Larry has been very supportive of our project, and as a thank you, we are giving him exclusive rights to the first shots of our new car. No one has seen the car except my crew, Joey's Place staff, and a few friends who snuck into our shop when we were not looking! This may seem a bit over blown, but this is our teams first 'all new' car, and we think, one of the first 'built in western Canada' funny cars. We are very excited about it! It is only new once. The car is a year 2000 Sitko built FMFC chassis, with a copy of Tom McEwens '57 chev body, that we had molded in California last fall. The body was mounted here in Edmonton at our shop, and sent over to Joey's Place for the most incredible paint job I have ever seen. The air brushing was done at Joey's by Dave Thomas of Art Alternatives. There is no factory chrome on the car, it was all air brushed! http://www.joeysplace.com/ The power train, for our first year, will be the same power train we ran in our Blown Altered last year. A blown alky BBC. We plan on running with the 7.50 group, International Blown Alcohol Association, (IBAA) at tracks all over Western Canada and possibly the U.S. http://home.att.net/~ibaaracing Give the IBAA a look if you want a cost effective, well run, and well attended drag race. The groups slogan is, "We'll blow you away", and if you have ever seen some of our members burnouts, you'd know why! Although NHRA won't allow this body to ever run at a national event as a FMFC, (due to the year rule), we have built it to FM/FC spec, as we hope, some day, to run the car a little faster. The IBAA, however, is the right spot for us right now. Good close, professional racing, and a heck of a great show! We will have pictures available on our site soon. Some various build pictures are on the sight now. Hope every one enjoys the car, if you like, drop us a line at girltroubleracing@hotmail.com. later -Jay Jay Mageau, Mageau Family Racing
