Mission Raceway Sunday June 3, 2001
Boyd Wylie was in the hot seat for the first time in a while. "Just getting tuned up for Ashcroft next week".
"It's gotta wheelie to go quick" HH overheard in the pit Sunday morning. Fine with us.
Garvin Camaro had BIG borrowed power underhood. Couple of cool launches. No full runs.
Check the 4by. This serious or what?
Murray on his only hit of the weekend got out of it way early when the tires cooked just off the pad. Later discovered the MGM machine had just three working binders. Rather than chance it he made the wise decision to turn spectator.
Run by Pickett in final was outstanding. Best run ever at MRP for the show-quality, haulin' ASS '66 Nova at 8.658/159.82.
So many quick black BB Camaros have come from Van Isle. Lachelt. Marlo. Ramcos Car Club. With BIG top speed (135.05) in Real Street and the win, Steve Rommel took gorgeous '67 to the ten teens...spinning the tires hard on a number of runs. Engine limit in this class has proven to be a success.
