2001 Pepsi Nightfire Nationals Friday August 10, 2001

One hit for everybody this evening. Here's the first pair of pros down the track, Danny Rowe and Tim Wallace in the Neighbourhood Bully Vette.

Danny Harper came all the way from kentucky to compete at the Nightfires for the first time ever. Here he's out on a troubled Glen Kerunsky.

Andy Naylor nearly lost it in his '93 Vette on this run beside John Scalpi who laid down a nice 6.66/196

Trevor Lowe got to meet up with the hottest PM in the Northwest, the Poison Viper of Dennis Radford. The Canadian shoebox ran 7.01/191 and hurt the motor as the nitrous Mopar ran a 6.64/215

The Voodoo car of Mike Lockman of Fort Collins CO was beside Dave Uyhara when he crashed.

Number one qualifier Butch Blair knew exactly where the 'Fug' he was going on way to a pretty 6.50/204

Shep Ginzberg from Thousand Oaks CA was way cool with heavy flames during the burnout!

The Orange Crate driven by Roger Lechtenberg came all the way from Cedar Falls Iowa.

We'll let you guess what fueler this is on the rear of...

The Ranford Family Topo is looking better with every outing. Randy went side-by-side with Boyd in the Express in a wonderful race.

Ricky Ruiz must have known something just before his run. An AA/FA career best of 5.98 topped the field after night one.

Last pair down featured this spectacular race between the world's quickest and fastest AwefulAweful and the former record holder Mack McCord driving the Gorilla.

McCord had big problems as he swerved to the left as Ron Fassel legged it out to a 6.05/202.

Mack made heavy contact with the wall that would result in some very sore ribs and swollen foot, not to mention some damage to the racecar. Unfortunately the team had to head it back to Arizona the next morning due to McCord's injuries.
