The Top Fuel final had veteren Ron Houneit in the near lane against rookie Jason Arkenstall who took his first win with a .131/6.939/200.98 as Houneit drifted towards the centerline on way to a .140/7.049/200.75. In round two it was Arkinstall who took out Brian Hall, who, up to this race, had been in the points lead. That makes it EIGHT in a row for the Maple Ridge rider who ran a personal best 6.640 to lead the 14 bike field in qualifying Saturday. Meanwhile Arkinstall, who qualified third at 6.938/203.52 proved to be the day's most consistant performer running sixes in his final three races with his round two 6.810/204.96 the day's best pass.
Pro Modified was a great show that saw Kelowna's Gord Smith take the win on a single when Waukesha Wisconsin's Tom Bradford could not make the call. Smith was a speed demon after qualifying with a 7.510/193.42 followed it in eliminations with runs of 7.78/191, 7.42/192 and a final round blast of 7.60/193! Bradford's 2003 Buell was unreal with a 7.341 to lead qualifying.
