Thursday pit pics thanks again to Jay Mageau Page 1
Thanks to our friend Jay Mageau we have a
bunch of unexpected pics from Wednesday set-up. Sorry no captions but
here is Jay's report:
Larry, I just got home from the first day of move in at the Rocky Mountain
Nats. Gates opened at 3.00 and by 9.00 the place was almost half full......
and they are holding most of the bracket cars out in the spectator lot
till tommorw night.
I took a bunch of shots, which you can feel free to use, or not. I don't
have time to update my sites till way into next week, so feel free,
or just enjoy.
I'll be coming home each night, and I'll send more stuff if you'd like.
First impressions? IHRA is out to impress. How about 90 plus people
working day and night at the facility since Monday, to try and get things
ready, after they lose 5 days to rain last week.
How about all the IHRA hitters coming this way.
How about the fast orderly and pleasent system they have set up to get
the racers in the gate and paid up.
How about the president of IHRA, Bill Bader, greeting EVERY racer at
the gate and welcoming them to Edmonton and to IHRA!
And the track itself. Its pretty darn smooth now. They had the IHRA
guro track grinder guy here weeks ago.......nice job. Second only to
Mission in smoothness, right across western Canada. AND STICKY!!!!!!
Larry, I have raced for a lot of years, and have never seen anything
like this around here. It's unreal. I'm loving it.
