10.22.99The Last MRP 'event' before the year 2000?
Today we took the world into a small-block Chevy-lover's wet dream come true. HH 99 the video. Be there.
That black blur is me shooting for WHAT American magazine? (Vicki Strell photo)
Jimmy Richmond was going head-to-head with Doug Rutz all day in Jimmy's 64 Malibu. Jimmy won, but DAMN could the former NASCAR NW driver (now pappa to an amazing, young open wheel circle jockey) take those left turns off the track! BTW: Bigtime congratulations to the NASCAR Northwest champeen for 1999, Surrey's very own Pete Harding!!!
We would love to show you more than just the engine and interior, but wanting to impress his kid, he had us go out and shoot some hi-rez stills of his last burnout of the day. Yes, we will show you when the images get processed. And yes, it's cool.
So how about Ray Litton and his 540 inch '69? First time out he managed a few sixties with a best of 10.64/129. The Langley welder will hook up the juice in 2000 looking for da nines.
Yes, a very fun, laid-back day under simply perfect sunny, warm, blue skies. Poo poos at Newlands, home to the Mac and I be a yuppie fool tonite. Damn, but I wish Murray coulda made it. |
