Please Note the Jan. page includes the late Dec. stuff I never got to... LP From: "Chris Blair" Date: Tue, 26 Jan 1999 I just wanted to let you know that I received a total of eight responses to my request for suggestions on improving National Event Registration. Six were from division six, one from division seven and one from a division four racer down in Texas. I have forwarded what I've received to my fellow DD's and the other people who will be in our meeting so they can look over it in advance. If anyone else has any other thoughts, please forward to me by January 30. On another note... I've had quite a few calls from people who are interested in becoming a member of my Certification Team. We are constantly trying new people in different roles to see how they bond with the team and are always willing to give someone a shot. Right now I'm full of safety guys and have that area well covered with Gord Field, Frank Nelson, Jr. and Louie Murray. Some areas I am looking at are in staging (pairing cars, relaying information, etc.) and tech. We currently have a great crew but, with the addition of the Canadian National Opens (and other races) I will have some weekends that will conflict with their family plans, work schedules, etc. For that reason, I am now accepting applications to audition for the team. If there is anyone who is interested they must mail or fax their resume and a list of references (I would like to have at least two references from racers and one from a track operator). Information can be sent to Chris Blair, P.O. Box 3488, Silverdale, WA 98383 fax: 360-698-4685 You must be hardworking, patient, have a damn good sense of humor, and don't weigh success by the amount of money you earn. Professionalism is also a must. Thanks for the forum Larry and I think Cannon's debut at Pomona will be just as colorful as his exit from IHRA. Chris 'Colourful'. Now there's a safe term... LP Date: Mon, 25 Jan 1999 Subject: HOWDY! Larry, you're doing a great job on this site! I'm a rookie on the net, but realize how much time all this must take! I'd like to share a few things going on. CANADA WEST PRO GAS ASSOC. is alive and stronger than ever! We have just (Fri. Jan 22) signed ROL GASKETS as a major sponsor of our series! They have been an associate for the last 2 years and are stepping up. We are preparing a press release. Glen the Gold Guy is back with a unreal championship ring, which has been re-tooled to read CWPGA CHAMPION 99 in memory of Don Stephenson. A very generous and kind gesture from Glen, speaking of who has really stepped up his program this year. Dave Richardson, Joe & Shelly Mellof & myself will all be taking care of things this year. We will be attempting to put up a web page for info and updates asap. I've had requests in the store for your vids. Let me know when they are done. I hope you back out to the digs to film and "do your thing" we need an objective observer, and the videos are great. Hope to see you soon. Keep up the great work, it is appriciated. Bud Stephenson I'll be looking forward to adding a link to the page Bud. Speaking of 'Triple G', I am just in the process of completing a press kit/sponsorship proposal/promo video deal for the team. I gotta thank him for the business that came at a great time for me. Which leads me into the video thing. I have another promotional video to produce for the CanAm Cruise people in Bellingham Wa. That will be done this weekend...then I can finally get HH '98 done. I must apologize to the many people who have inquired about getting this tape, along with some of the old ones. The video page here on HH is right up there on my list of priorities, I may even try to do it before I get into the new tape, but I want to do it bigtime...RealVideo and all that. The trailer for the vid is done and the couple of people who have seen it had big smiles on their faces while watching it so...Thanks for the support, and hopefully I'll even get to see one of the great CWPGA races in '99. LP rom: "Jeff Goss" Hi Larry. I just got back from the meeting In Bellingham. It went pretty good. Nothing like seeing your racing buddies again to get you motivated to get ready to race. Of special interest was Bill and Joan Wells in the back of the room. I heard them talk about how much fun it will be to race and talk to the other racers. Have some fun for a change. What a concept! Aubrey Holmes and Mark(Bog) were running the meeting. They were great. Looks like it should be a good season. Even got to see one of your older videos. I hope to get my car into one some day. I hope you can still make them. I wont be able to make the meeting at Cruiser's. Hope you can post some of the Feedback from it. Take care. Jeff Goss Thanks for the report Jeff. I don't think I will be able to make the Cruisers meeting either, but hopefully there will be something online somewhere. LP Date: Thu, 21 Jan 1999 From: "tom posthuma"
Larry, Yup the supershifter meeting is at noon Sunday at the track, maybe I can still catch part of the Cruisers meeting too, thing at Wallys sounds cool, I've heard all about it from Bill. Nitronic is a cool site, they are talking about Nhra Today which I miss, but saying Inside Drag Racing was better! Whaaaaaa, hey I'm Canadian here, we are not allowed ESPN and such...hell in communist Delta we can't get Speedvision fer chrissakes, maybe a pizza sized sattelite dish eh? Do those things get ESPN? Thanks for the meeting confirmation Tom. Inside Drag Racing is a prorgram I have never seen because the only way to get any form of ESPN north of the 49th is to grey market a dish deal. The big ones and the little ones get it only if you go thru an American grey market supplier. Yur right, our govt. feels any 'Murican sports channel coming over the border will kill our own three. And since drag racing is so far down the list of things that are suggested to the station managers (since none of us write in...or so few do) chances of one of the Canadian hockey networks going after some drag racing show is a dream. About your only other option is to go to a bar that has it...then convince the owner to switch off the Zamboni channel to drag racing...and watch the blood fly! PS: That's Tommy's way cool T-Bolt in this pic of the Super Shifter lanes at MRP. FYI: it's a track class for cars with doors and three pedals on the floor. Kinda neat. LP
Date: Sat, 05 Dec 1998 Subject: roller jam Ok I'll admit its definitely more exciting than NHRA Today. As for the wave its pretty good but I signed up when they phoned and offered their initial deal, which gave me the ethernet card free. It just cost for installtion of cable and such. As long as the price doesn't go up it will be great. Very little lagtime and unlimited time. Casey It's nice to live in the Vancouver BC region as it's about the most wired place on the globe. Most of us have (and have had for a while) fairly cheap home access to cable modems, ISDN and ADSL. Biggest problem is the waiting list for ADSL (probably the best system) is about six months, and it costs about twice as much as the cable WAVE setup. PS: Hey Casey yer taking this nostalgia thing way too serious....note email date...or do you have a 'year 99' problem with your system? LP Date: Tue, 19 Jan 1999 From: Chris Stone Hey Larry, it's Chris Stone.Well I finally got with the '80s and got my own e-mail address. I was at the HH website and I have to tell you I'm very dismayed to hear of your problems with MRP, and the problems within the organisation itself. It's not the same without you there taping everyone, and I can't believe there's no market in it as no-one else does it. As far as MRP goes,I have no idea what's going on.It's hard to separate fact from fiction on the ol grape vine.(the old way) I have some pictures of my car on disc if you are interested. Maybe we could get together sometime. See you: Chris Thanks Chris, but I must state that currently I really don't have any problems with MRP staff or BCCCA. For me, that's all water under the bridge. As for the 'no market' comment all I'll say is that maybe there's nobody as stupid as me for taking on such a project. To this day I have never heard of a 'track videographer' anywhere else in drag racing who does what I used to. So I can only assume that I was either a bit ahead of the game, or so far out in left field... It's great to hear from you again though. Send me pic, I'll post it here. LP Date: Thu, 03 Dec 1998 Subject: roller jam Ya real exciting, note the large crowd which if I read correctly during the show got in free or at least that is what it said when asked if you were going to be in the neighbourhood. Just write to this address.....get free tickets If NHRA did that attendance would go up too. Is it just me or is the new version more boring than the orginal. Less action. So this is what they dropped drag racing for. (yawn) Casey I admit to being a big WWF/WCW viewer, and compared to them RJ is a so far behind, I don't think they have a remote hope of catching up. Now compared to NHRA Today... So how's that Wave deal work Casey? I have been considering it for a while, but have this anti-Rogers thing I can't seem to get over. LP From: Tracy Noble Larry; In response to Grant Stovel's request for information. Both of the Loafers' Races (Ashcroft & Mission) are listed as being pre '71 (70 & older). Sorry Grant! If you are interested in more info, their contact number is... Tracy I left out the phone number, but if you would like it, I'm sure Tracy will take care of you via email. As for RJ...so many bucks...so little brains. LP Subject: Lyle Greenberg Motorsports Web Update This week's update consists mostly of new pictures. Go to the home page at http://home.att.net/~lyleg and click on the links to:
Lyle Greenberg 443 FM/FC http://home.att.net/~lyleg For all you racers with websites who want to get some hits, have some fun, and promo some sponsors, be aware of what Lyle is doing here. He's a wonderful example of how to do things with a positive slant, be entertaining, without having all the wild multi-media stuff that some people feel they cannot do without. He alse does a great job of getting the word out, which for many is just too much like work. For sponsored racers, here's a site to measure yours by. LP From: "Chris Blair" Dear NHRA Sportsman Racer, Obviously one of the big complaints that we get when we discuss NHRA National events are the hoops it seems you guys have to go through when it comes time to enter and register for a National Event. The NHRA has followed the same procedure for many years that requires you to request an entry, complete the entry, send it (and your money) to California. Then you go to the race, wait in line to get pitted, wait in line to register, wait in line for waiver exchange....you get the picture. As complicated as it seems to you, there actually is a method to this madness that does work in getting the job done. However, as the Sportsman Racers Association as mentioned before, there is a need for simplifying the registration process to make your racing experience more enjoyable and less frustrating. The 7 NHRA Division Directors, Director of Field Operations Gene Bergstrom, Director of Race Opeerations Ned Walliser and Senior Vice President Graham Light have a brainstorming session (insert your joke here) scheduled for Monday, Feb. 1, 1999. We are dedicating a big chunk of our meeting to addressing this one issue and seeing what we can do to simplify the operation. I'm asking for your input in assisting us in this streamiling procedure. I would like for you to take what you know about attending a National event, think about the areas where there seems to be a hang-up (that causes your most frustration) and provide a solution as to how you think it could be done better. Take a step outside and look at it from a variety of angles. What steps can be cut out? How can we inform you better? Any ideas for a computerized system? Throw out your wildest ideas, put it to paper and send it my way. You never know, I may actually read it. Please send your suggestions via mail (P.O. Box 3488, Silverdale, Washington 3488), fax (360-698-4685) or e-mail (nhradiv6@silverlink.net) the only thing I request is that you send it so that I receive it no later than 7 a.m. on Sunday, January 31. Keep in mind that some of the simplest ideas may have been overlooked because it was, believe it or not, too obvious. If you are afraid to put your name on it, send it along anonymously. Don't be afraid to tell me what you guys would like. I would like to let everyone know that the first time someone starts complaining about the registration process at National events the first questions I will ask is... "Did you give me your opinion when I asked for it?" If you give me your opinion you have a license to voice your complaint regarding this topic in the future. If you don't voice your opinion now .... well... Please pass this along to your fellow racers who don't have access to this site so that everyone gets the opportunity to take advantage of their "voice." Believe it or not, I look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely, Chris Blair P.S. Thanks to Larry Pfister for his "positive" website. It is a valuable resource and we are fortunate to have it (most of the time). I guess most of the time is better than some of the time...then again maybe all the time would be worse than none of time, unless if all the time was less than most of the time than if it wasn't half the time. I got no time for this Roller Jams on... LP From: "Chris Blair" Date: Tue, 12 Jan 1999 I just wanted to let you know that I got my newest issues of "Sports Business Weekly" and "Advertising Age" today. I was so pleased to see that TNN/CBS bought full color/full page ads in each to promote the sport of tomorrow... Roller Jam. Ad Age is one of the highest priced trade publications in the world! A FULL PAGE AD!!!!!??? Sports Business Weekly is widely read by everyone in all sports, advertising and sports marketing. Can you believe they are doing this for a sport that isn't a sport? To finance this stuff my old employer is having to purchase (along with World Sports) the 10 p.m. slot after roller jam for their shows. (in the past this was free) This isn't as much the fact that NHRA is weak (or the ASA series or World of Outlaws) it's the simple fact that if a network is going to pay for sports where they can't predict a winner it will only be NASCAR. Otherwise they want a guaranteed start, finish and winner that points toward one thing... ratings. As much as I hate to say this... TNN will be succesful with this project. The demographic is the WWF and WCW crowd who don't have wrestling on Friday, they don't go anywhere because it would mean having to put on shoes, and they buy a whole bunch of beer, potato chips, and stuff on the QVC channel they will also vote for Jerry Springer int he next election (as long as Hank, Jr. is his running mate). AS R.E.M. SAID IN 1987... "IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!" The World's entertainment and advertising industry just loves Bubba and Ma. I encourage everyone to write letters to TNN and CBS in hopes that the network will keep their focus on a strong Sunday line-up and bump some of those lame shows like "Shade Tree Fish Scaling" and "Front Porch Refrigerator Repair." Fish Scaling show...When's that on?!? REALLY?? FISH SCALING??? BIG knives 'an stuff! Wo...be still my heart. And I take great offence for taking a crack at one of my favOrite shows... once I get the fridge back from the repair shop I'll try to replace that watcha-call-it thingie in the back with a smaller hammer next time...just like that babe on 'This Ole' Fridge' does every week. I am kinda gettin used to beer at room temperature tho... From: "Chris Blair" The comments about future division races have really lit the phones up down here. All of the Division Directors are going to meet at Pomona with the folks from Federal Mogul to see what we can do to make the series better for them, the sportsman racers and our host tracks. Once I get an idea as to where we are going to go with the series, I am going to lay out several ideas and share them with the Driver's Commission. I want to address several things and make sure that when we make site changes in the future that it will work for everyone (from the racer in Portland to the guy in Saskatoon who wants to run for points). We have a big area to cover so I just can't throw dots at the map and say "Let's Go Racing There!" I hope we can take the Federal Mogul events to the tracks who will help take the sport to the next level. I also wanted to share with everyone that there may be a new track built in the Spokane area in another year of two. Are any of the racers out there involved in these plans? I've forwarded the guidelines for building a track and I plan on visiting the facility in mid-February. A room full of DDs eh? Naa, I won't go there...Thanks for the input Chris LP Date: Wed, 13 Jan 1999 Subject: Positive How about we make that the word for the year. I for one will be at the meeting and hope to hear a lot of good conversation about the coming season. MRP is too good an asset to see it eaten away from the inside out. Who knows I might even be there too....maybe. LP Date: Mon, 11 Jan 1999 Subject: Nostalgia -Old Timers Drag Events Larry, Managed to get something a little slower than the Mustang. Precisely it is a 1971 Monte Carlo 454. Most of the reason to get this vehicle was to race in OLD TIMER/NOSTALGIA drag events throughout B.C. and Alberta and some Chevy events as well. The American Nostalgia Racing Association allows cars to 1974 and older whereas [rumours have it] that the events in Mission and Ashcroft only allow 1969 and older. Would you please advise if you know the sanctioning/organizing bodies who run these events. ALSO---the Prince George track will have its own Division Six Bracket race in the summer. We should see 200 cars here which would make it the biggest event in the history of the track. Grant Stovel Nice to hear from Grant for the first time in a while. I think the Loafer Oldtime drags at Mission and Ashcroft have a pre 71 rule, but I'm not sure. Maybe somebody could confirm this. I have no idea of the rules anywhere else. As for the Bracket thing, I understand that Medford has one confirmed on May 22/23, with more 'eventually' will go to Lost Creek Montana, Pocatello Idaho and North Central in Prince George. What I'm saying is other than your email I have no other definate confirmation that the Prince george race is on. I'm sure somebody will send something to steer me right on this though eh? LP Date: Sun, 10 Jan 1999 Subject: 1320 link Larry, Great job! I know how much work went into this update, and please believe me when I tell you how much I appreciate it. We got 5,000 hits in November, 4800 hits in December, and 1100 so far this month. I fully expect this number to go out of site now that you have the link up on your site. I DO appreciate your great work and mostly thankless effort! Thanks again, Jim Anytime pal! LP Date: Sun, 10 Jan 1999 Subject: NHRA TV stuff & ESPN2/NHRA Today rumor Hi Larry, It all depends who has any open programing time at this late of a date. Once the NASCAR season starts who knows how many of these low budget self produced shows will turn up, like the Inside Drag Racing Show is. That show is done for 1/10th of what NHRA Today cost to do per show. A sure sign that things are looking dark for the announcers is the fact that you are hearing some of them doing more voice overs for other types of commercials on television now. Just the other day on the Golf Channel, Mac was doing the voice over for the "Club Caddy", some piece of shit $2.00 piece of plastic that they had the nerve to charge $24.95 for it. By this point in the programming schedules, all they can do now is take what they can get, and hope for some cancellations of some of the scheduled stuff so they can fall into those time slots. An interesting piece from one of my respected 'sources', who for reasons obvious to me wish to remain annon. LP Date: Sat, 09 Jan 1999 Subject: Horsepower Heaven Larry; Happy New Year! Got my first look at your site today, looks great! Too bad some of the local yocals don't understand that Appearance and Presentation count and that they've become stale and moldy in their approach (I think we know which site I'm talking about). As for your financial situation in 1999, I hear you! The only consolation is that others aren't doing as well as they thought they would. As for your big mouth, Bravo! Somebody, somewhere, has to finally say enough is enough, grow a set of brass balls (better you than me in that department) and speak out. You have way more support than you realize. You always have, they just have a funny way of showing it. I'm disappointed that I haven't yet had a chance to kick some ass this year at your Horsepower Heaven - Practice Tree Nationals. Winning the1998 Inaugural was great. When is it? And how much are tickets? I want the opportunity to hold on to my title. Maybe this year you can get me some stiffer competition (just joking guys). All the best to you and Denise in 1999. Tracy This is proof that anyone, and I mean ANYONE can operate a computer....sorry Tracy, I HAD to! Thanks for your input, I'm sure it will surprise more than a few people that you are online. I am also sure that you will be good for some 'to-the-point' feedback of your own...it's always welcome here. As for the HHPTNats, the event is on hold until I can find a place that can get any live drag racing up here in Canada. Since our government has banned anything ESPN-related unless it's a re-broadcast (read: LATE) on one of our THREE hockey-mad sports specialty networks. We get dog shows, we get air shows, we DON'T get live drag racing. One more reason to dream of the day when live webcasting becomes a reality for the masses. LP From: "Jeffrey Foster" Subject: Some news from Jeff Foster Larry, just wanted to drop you a note to tell you the news I got today from Graham Light, I start my full time employment with NHRA as the elecronics coordinator at National events this July starting at Denver and then on my own after INDY. So all those years of knocking around all the great tracks here in the Northwest have paid off. Don't worry I'll still be around here too, have those long time ties that I can't break and I will still live here in the Kent area. Hope you get you crash problems figured out. I hate those things can you imagine what a computer crash will do to me on my new job. Talk to you later. Oh this is cool, now Wilson, Ski and every other 'critic' will know exactly who to trash when there is an electrical failure at a National Event! Seriously, congrats Jeff! You really have been thru the ringer a few times...at one track in particular if I remember correctly. I've seen this guy work magic with just a set of wire-cutters, and it's ALWAYS great to hear of a 'Leader' moving up in NHRA. Now if we can only place somebody in the media department....I hear there's a spot open. LP From: "Jeff Goss" Hi Larry, My name is Jeff Goss. I have been racing brackets at Mission Raceway since 1991. My dealings with the staff have always been good. Bill and Joan are the backbone of the track. Nothing else should be said. I really enjoyed Wally Duperron(bad spell), also Rick and Ron Farmer. Why aren't they around? Politics? I race with the Thunder Alley bunch, and we have always been treated fairly. I just wanted to say that I am tired of all the politics associated with MRP and the BCCCA. I know John Buczynski(bad spell again), and he is a great guy. I dont know much about the others. What is the car clubs problem? They cant leave a good thing alone. I used to know everyone working there. Now the staff changes on a regular basis. I wish that they would talk to the racers more, to get the input that they need to make it a more enjoyable experience for all. Bullshit ('scuse me) politics and playing favorites does not cut it. It would be good to hear more specifics about the goings on at MRP. You are my only link to what happens, and you really dont get specific-for obvious reasons. The car club should sell the track to owners that would drive the Drag Racing end of it and make it into what we all know it could be. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to vent. Jeff Goss NHRA #6990 Super Stock Thanks for the input Jeff. From the rumors I'm hearing the staff changes at MRP this season may be even more than what is currently public. On one hand it's too bad, but on other change is a constant, sometimes for the better, other times not. Trying to figure out this kind of stuff before it actually happens is impossible, so I'll save my comments (if any) until things get going and everyone sees who shows up, who doesn't and how it goes. I hear from a source that Jim Rockstad has been in court the past few weeks regarding his lease at S.I.R. and there may even be a group other than the Fiorittos (the land owners) who want in. Back on the MRP side, the elections are Sunday Jan. 9 and who knows what may come out of that with rumors flying all over. Regardless, I will be posting the names of the 1999 BCCCA executive the minute they are made available to me. Let the games begin. LP Date: Tue, 5 Jan 1999 Subject: So? Where you been? Lar, Horsepower Heaven is starting to look like a ghost town...I hope you're making some hay so you can go to the races this year. Bad Bob Wilson said you'd been having some video software problems, and I saw your post on the NHRA newsgroup, so I know you're alive. Now, I'VE been a busy little webmonkey. Check out the new sites, both are finally live, opened the AA/FA site on sunday. Now, update something, even if it's the dates by the roll-overs. 9-what?-98? Buh-bye! Whats been happenin'? Well I guess thats more than one question....Hell
I'm an announcer I can't count...LOL Steve Wong Stevie Wong, my old friend! I'm up to about ten inches...not much has been happenin...I WILL talk to you soon...and you're welcome! Seriously, not many realize that 'monsewer' Wong put another feather in his piston-cap last season as a marketing guru at MRP. Did a pretty decent job from what I hear, and will most certainly be back screaming at the top of his lungs all along the Div. 6 trail in 1999. One of the coolest guys around, Steve is a true Land 'O the Leaders demigod. (Websters meaning: a minor diety...you look it up). PS: He even made it onto the final cut of the HH 98 video... LP Date: Wed, 30 Dec 1998 Subject: Trouble at Mission Larry, I hate to send you an e-mail about the problems at Mission but have been wondering where is the friction coming from? I am guessing it must be from the officers of the car club and the Well's. I attended the track operators meeting in Seattle representing Coos Bay. I missed Joan as she was very knowlegeable about running the track as well as keeping us guys at the meeting in line. I do not know Bill as well but he wore our team Coos Bay shirt on the starting line Friday during last years Bracket Finals..a real neat treat for us. The bracket finals at Mission Aubrey and Joan trteated us and all the racers to a very well organized event and the starting line was good enough to break a u-joint in our Dodge in the tournment of champions..when we got in Thursday the track was VHT'D all the way to the finish line. Looked like it was prepped for a National Event, maybe even better. It was a treat not to have to go scrape the starting line like we did in Yakima. One of our team members needed a little first aid on Sunday afternoon and received treatment, promptly and professionally. It troubles me greatly to think the nicest track in our division is having such problems. On a different note, I am in the process of totally rebuilding the SCDRA website. Would it be ok with you to include a link to your site. Any do's or dont's and any and all advice is welcome. Also is Bob Wilson going to be moving his site in the future, he has a countdown for leaving. I like his site and the NR site as they offer a no holds barred view of what the racers and spectators are thinking. I do not know if you receive the division newsletter or not, but have not seen anything about the racers meeting Chris Blair wants to hold at Mission during the Divisional Race. It is at a local motel. I can get you more details if you do not have them. I think it is a step in the right direction, especially if he could get Carl Olson from NHRA there also. Sorry this got so long. !!Happy New Year!! Always nice to hear from my old online pal Joe. Let me respond to each query you sent. The Mission stuff should be sorted out soon...I hope. I firmly believe the detractors are in the minority simply from the little feedback I get on the subject (and no other reason). I know there ain't squat I can do about it so will leave it at that. Hey Joe, you can ad a link to HH anytime, and I'll ad you to mine in the next day or so once I get to my long-awaited Links update. As for the newsletter, I got one a few weeks ago, but you may want to email Chris Blair directly to get a copy for yourself. Sure would be nice if it could be posted somewhere online though eh? I didn't hear if Olson (NHRA VP Technical Administration/International Relations)would be at Mission, but I would assume Melvin Record (Director of Field Marketing) should be on hand, along with a Federal-Mogul rep. Wonder if any other track managers might make it??? LP From: "Brent Trottier" What did you do to this page that makes it so wide? I have to keep scrolling from side to side to read the messages. Doesn't make for easy reading. Is there any way to wrap this text? I am using IE 4 on a 266mhz PC. Brent Trottier It took me a bit, but I finally figured out that I posted a cpl of photos without separating them, which caused the page to stretch to ridculous proportions. Should be fixed now. LP Date: Sat, 26 Dec 1998 Subject: Re: 3 flop pics attatched Larry, BTW, did you know the Dunn & Reath RE cuda is currently in Spokane? Jeff Check this one out people, for if you have even a remote interest in the floppers of the 70s (...and I can't imagine any HH visitor who doesn't), make sure you go see what JW has posted. As for the RE D&R car, weren't there two?...or am I wrong...or did it just get painted blue at some point? Regardless, it would great to see someone restore this historic piece of drag racing history. Send me a pic and I'll post my RealAudio file of the big guy running his best time ever (up to that point) at Seattle in the blue car...or was it the red car...or am I lost again? LP
Date: Fri, 25 Dec 1998 Subject: site I just happened to pop onto your site today. I don't get there very much. I noticed something about division 6 sites. Since we are in division 6 I hope you have added or will be adding a listing for the Calgary Drag Racing Association. Some of us don't like the way the NHRA handles races any more but since our local track, Racecity, is a division 6 track, it's the best we've got so we'll stick with it. Others are perfectly happy with the NHRA and are glad to be members. Our web site has grow over the last season and I hope to add more to it in 1999. I don't expect to compete with nhraonline, HH or Beard racing but for local information about our club it's fantastic. Stephen Scott CDRA
