Allen Johnson fastest qualifier for Saturday's Las Vegas Pro Stock Showdown at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
LAS VEGAS - Allen Johnson of Greeneville, Tenn., drove his MOPAR-sponsored 2006 Dodge Stratus to the top of the 14-car heap during qualifying today in preparation for Saturday's fourth annual Las Vegas Pro Stock Showdown at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series pilot ran the quarter mile in 6.709 sec., at 205.63 mph. Jeg Coughlin, defending Pro Stock champion and winner of the
2007 event, was second at 6.712 sec./205.44 mph.

More cars are expected to arrive tonight and participate in Saturday's final round of qualifying at 10 a.m. The first round of Pro Stock eliminations is set for noon Saturday.

Sonny's semi Hemi right now, with a turbo 400, but she's ready for Pro Stock if I can get a deal put together." His first race looks like the Phoenix divisional, then Tucson, starting out in A/AA Comp Eliminator trim.

Health Canada and Environment Canada to set up test equipment at Eagle Motorplex to test leaded fuel numbers
On April 30th, 2008, the exemption that had been provided for competition vehicles was extended until January 1, 2010. This extension period was given to provide time for the government to further study the potential health risks associated with the use of leaded gasoline at Canadian race tracks. Health Canada and Environment Canada will therefore be conducting a monitoring study in 2009 to quantify lead levels at different Canadian race tracks. Health Canada will use this new information to accurately estimate the lead exposure at race tracks.

The health impacts estimated from the planned 2009 study, as well as further economic data on the racing industry that will be gathered by Environment Canada, will be used by the Government of Canada to make an informed evidenced-based decision about the future use of leaded fuels at Canadian race tracks.

At the time of each visit, the technicians will set up stationary air samplers at various distances from the edges of the track. These air samplers will be used to collect lead samples over the course of three time-frames [the day prior to a scheduled race day; during the race events [ including test and tune; and the day following the race event].

During the race events, the samplers will be operated from approximately 30 minutes prior to races commencing until approximately 30 minutes after racing activities have ceased for the day, or until 12 hours of sampling time has been accumulated [whichever comes first]. During non-race days the samples will be run for the same time period to assess background lead levels.

Air samplers will also be set up in a residential/rural area close by and run as above. This will allow comparison of on-track and off-track data collected during the same three time-frames.

Warm wishes to the new guys from the New Crew
Those of us over on this side of the mountain range are thrilled to welcome the Spokane facility into the NHRA fold. Both Dad and I were there the day the track officially broke ground with their first major event way back in 1974, when the late Jim Tice Sr. rolled into town with the Spring Nationals. Each of us in the New Crew want to wish Bucky, Jay, J.J. and all the racers in the greater-Spokane region the very best in the coming weeks, months and many, many years to help make the eastern Washington track a first-rate operation within Division 6. Knowing each of the principals involved, we're certain it will be top notch.

Covering a time span of better than three and a half decades, there are most certainly many stories that could fill a book the size of a Michener novel about the inland northwest region racing scene. Veteran racers like the Hoerner's, Juel's, Clark's, Manfred's, Tupper's, McArthur's, and hundreds of others will finally get a chance to race at a quality race track in their own backyard. We're just excited for all the competitors, fans and racing enthusiasts that racing will not only continue, but thrive with the new Spokane operation. They certainly have a vast array of work ahead of them, but given a little time, sweat equity and serious capital, they'll no doubt be helping to further expand and grow the "Land of the Leaders".

On behalf of all of us at the "original" Firebird Raceway here in western Idaho, best wishes to everyone involved with the Spokane undertaking. May the sun shine brightly on all your race days and at the same time give the racers a chance to enjoy the thrill of NHRA Championship Drag Racing.

Roy Carr passes
Long time Mission Bracket/Friday night street legal racer and avid cruising enthusiast Roy Carr passed about 2:00 a.m. this morning as a result of cancer. I had the pleasure of having Roy as a video client during the early MRP years and he was always a fun person to be around. He went away for a few years, then started showing up again to MRP, this time on Friday nights with his super sano butternut yellow Camaro. Roy said it was racing he could afford and racing he loved, and could often be seen on weekends cruising in the Langley area. We will pass on service information as we get it.

6:00 p.m. BREAKING NEWS! Spokane is ON...Lucas event June 12-14.
For Immediate Release:

Spokane County Raceway in Spokane, Washington, has joined the growing list of NHRA member tracks. The facility, which includes a drag strip, road course and paved oval, is owned by Spokane County. The Board of County Commissioners recently signed a 25-year agreement with Austin Motorsports Management to operate the track. Austin Motorsports Management is owned by Bucky Austin, a successful businessman, current nostalgia nitro funny car driver, and a member of the NHRA Division 6 Hall of Fame. He has tabbed Jay Livingston as general manager of the facility.

The Spokane Dragstrip Manager has also been officially announced. Former NHRA Div. 6 Certification Team member Jason 'JJ' Murray will assume that position immediately.

“We are very excited to bring NHRA championship drag racing to the Spokane community,” said Livingston. “There are a lot of great racers in this part of the country and they deserve a first-class facility. Our goal is to exceed their expectations.”

Austin’s agreement with the county calls for at least $2,000,000 in improvements, and work is already under way. The track will host a Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event on June 12-14, 2009. In 2010, they will host the Summit Racing Series Finals.

This year’s race season is approaching fast and Livingston states, “we expect to begin our race season on May 1st.” The 2009 season looks to be one of the busiest schedules in the raceway’s history with major events scheduled from May through September.

Portland Rod & Custom Show and Seattle Roadster Shows apparently CANCELLED...one online rumor states bankruptcy due to current economy. Site of show producers does not have any info, while a number of other sites have posted cancellation notices.

HH back to Vegas...and this time it's nitro baby!
It's no secret that HH rarely moves into the pro nitro ranks, the main reason being we do video and such people are forbidden to shoot national events and post anywhere. Not so with test sessions, and this coming weekend HH will have a few days to, in the words of Chris Blair to "Come on down and shoot the hell out of it."

This was not exactly planned back last fall when my wife Denise noticed an ultra cheap return flight online. Thinking this would be a cool Xmas gift for dad, we booked it, knowing at the time we'd cruise out to THE STRIP at LVMS for what at the time was labeled a two day Pro Stock test Monday and Tuesday Feb. 2/3.

I also had no idea that we'd end up in Sin City on a particularly 'entertaining' day - Super Bowl Sunday. Needless to say a few days relaxing in Vegas has turned into holy crap wadda we do first!

With two pro test sessions in the books so far in '09 the Vegas dates, which actually go from this Friday through to next Tuesday and include the Pro Stock Showdown and Pacific National Open, come as a bit of a little known bonus. Most of the test talk lately has been around what the pros can no longer do after the Winternationals. This pre-Pomona session is officially the last pro test session of 2008 and includes rumors of name such as Pedregon, Snake, Kalitta and more! And it's not just a pro session, but open to anybody, so who knows what may show!

Starting one week today, we'll be posting as much as we can giving the drag race public one of the very few, if only, opportunities to see pro nitro starting line video different from what ya see on teevee...and that reminds me, I'll e-mail our host right now to expect some 'extra' traffic for a few days, even though we'll be giving you another url you'll be able to see the vids in case HHoverload happens again.

It's gonna be a fun few days at Americas Greatest Drag Strip and a positive break from all the negative nitro news we've been reading lately.

I have been reading a lot of negative writing on the NHRA lately. Not on your site, but some of the others. Ticket pricing being too high, and them not really caring about the average Joe. Well I have a story that is the exact opposite of most.

Two years ago I had to travel to California for work. It was the week after the Winternationals. It worked out perfect, work would even pay for most of the trip. But two days before I was supposed to leave, my two year old daughter became very ill and had to be hospitalized for a couple of days. There was no way I was going to make the Nationals. I had waited about 20 years for the chance to go and obviously chose the care of my daughter over the trip.

The next year business again lined up with the Winternationals. Perfect.... The stars were aligning again. I had paid for a full four day pass the year before and was unable to use any of it. I decided I would e-mail the NHRA and see if there was any way that they could help with the price of another four day pass. To my surprise, they said that could get me another four day pass at NO CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!! All I had to do was show a receipt for the tickets and a hospital bill for my daughter (which I can understand) and they put me in awesome seats. It was a drag racing dream finally come true, thanks to the great staff of the NHRA ticket office.

NHRA MANDATES 2009 TESTING POLICY FOR TOP FUEL AND FUNNY CAR CATEGORIES

GLENDORA, Calif. (Jan. 21, 2009) -- In an ongoing effort to assist in curtailing escalating costs associated with the operation of professional nitromethane category vehicles (Top Fuel and Funny Car), NHRA has implemented the following testing limitations for the 2009 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series season.

Unlimited testing for Top Fuel and Funny Car teams will be permitted until the 2009 season opener at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, Feb. 5, 2009. At that point, and during the 2009 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series season (Feb 5 to Nov 15), professional nitromethane teams will be limited to a maximum of four (4) one-day test sessions. This policy applies to both the team and driver.

NHRA’s definition of testing includes, but is not limited to, any run or attempted run conducted at any track whatsoever, whether or not it is an NHRA track or NHRA-sanctioned track. Exhibitions, match racing, licensing attempts, and the like, are considered testing and will be subject to this testing policy. For example, participating at a two-day match race will be defined as two testing session days. Regardless of the number of runs attempted per day, each day will be defined as one testing day.

A team in violation of this testing policy will forfeit all NHRA Full Throttle points earned at the next NHRA National event at which the team participates. Any team demonstrating a flagrant disregard or continual violation of the testing policy may be subject to additional punitive action as deemed appropriate by NHRA in its sole and absolute discretion.

The policy was developed after consultation with several professional nitromethane teams on a fair and equitable way to limit testing in the 2009 season. NHRA’s decisions enforcing the policy will be final and not appealable.

I've put the HD thing on hold for now as I need new software to do it. Not a big deal, but it's not a priority just yet. For the next couple of weeks I'll be working exclusively on the Mega Ford feature video. More on that as I get further into it.

Lots of time well wasted watching the BJ auction this weekend. Unfortunately the bubble has burst and you'll have to hang onto that collection of ZL1 Camaros and Hemi Cudas in your backyard and wait for the next round of price hikes...oh 'bout 2030 or so. Listening to the BJ boyz whining, sniveling and actually begging for higher prices is music to my ears. And when the big guy ominously yelled "DON'T DO IT" as one of Reggie Jackson's COPO Camaros was about to go for a song I bout fell over in amazement. This auction is show biz whose time has come. The 'stuff' that goes down here is just scary.

2009 West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association Event Schedule

The 2009 West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association's schedule is finalized. With seven (possibly eight) races confirmed this is going to be one heck of a season. Also with this upcoming season bring some changes, Barona Dragstrip is an 1/8 mile track we will be racing at during the first weekend in May and the final event at Sacramento Raceway (the Governors Cup) could possibly be a 16-car field.

We've booked a total of four events with Sacramento Raceway, two (maybe three) events with Champion Raceway in Medford, Oregon (the last event is tentative) and one event with Barona Dragstrip (near San Diego, Ca), which will be a 1/8 mile track. Here is the complete schedule with the event dates, names and location:

Within its continuing efforts in support of Canada's drag racing scene, and to help celebrate its 10th Anniversary year of operations, DragRaceCanada announces its annual "Canadian Drag Racer of the Year" awards program. It is the 5th consecutive year that drag racing fans can vote to help recognize top achievements in Canadian drag racing during the past season campaign.

The 2008 DragRaceCanada "Drag Racer of the Year" awards program will honor four winners; one Professional driver, one Sportsman driver, one Crew chief/Tuner as well as the Most Improved/Up-And-Coming drag racer.
Covering all sanctioned drag racing but limited to Canadian drag racers only, the on-line ballot began on Jan. 15th, 2009 at 00:01 and will close at 23:59 on Feb. 14th, 2009. After the polls close and the audit is completed four winners will be announced. All will receive on-line recognition as well as a handsome commemorative "NitroMoose" trophy sculpture.

RACE CITY ABOUT TO GET SCREWED BY CITY HALL
HH take - After reading this I wonder how many racers and racing business people will do anything more than perhaps post something online or go to the extent of actually writing on paper and mailing to the city. Just the thought of a rally on the steps of city hall is very interesting, as today's 'protesters' rarely do much more than whine amongst themselves on message boards and in pubs, resulting in nothing positive happening. The thought of a bunch of greasers doing burnouts at such a 'rally' is a scary thought too.

Will the racer types come out of the woodwork and actually organize in cow town, or will they argue how to do it and loose perhaps their last chance? Will a potentially lengthy, expensive legal battle ensue? Or will this be the end of it?

We will now see just how important Race City really is to the local racing community. We'll see if management and the racers can come together, and how much time and expense they will all go to fight for their mutual survival.

Nitro Injected Motors Approved for Pro Extreme in 2009
O' FALLON, MO (January 16, 2009) – ADRL officials have announced today that nitromethane injected big-block engines – commonly referred to as A/Fuel motors – will be legal for use in the National Guard ADRL Pro Extreme class beginning in 2009.

"I think this is something that will be real exciting for the fans," said Bubba Corzine, ADRL Vice President of Competition. "Watching the flames rise over the roof of the car at night will bring a whole new level of excitement to the ADRL."

Initially, fuel mixtures up to 94% nitromethane will be allowed. However, the ADRL reserves the right to review that number as part of an effort to maintain a competitive playing field.

Any competitor planning to utilize this engine combination must first be approved by the ADRL Competition Department.

Few changes to BCCCA Executive
After the annual vote yesterday the major players remain in place, though there were a couple of changes. Ken Bradley is now the Club Secretary and Bob Behnke the new Treasurer. They replace Bill Clifford who was basically doing both jobs in 2008. Peter Dray is a new Director, a position previously held by Grant Eldridge.

The entire list is now posted on the track site. Of note HH would like to thank Bill Clifford for his work the past two years. He did a great job and will be missed.

ATTN Video customers still waiting
Any of you who got one o dem spiffy new BluRay players (or similar such as a PS3 or HD media player) from Mr. Clause let me know as I would like to try some HD testing on regular dvd discs - at my expense for your benefit. I may well go the BluRay route, but not just yet. This is only for those still waiting as I don't have time to go back and do it for everybody who may want one. If it does work I will make them available for past customers.

When I need a break from editing
What started off as a short update ballooned into another rambling rant from LP. And NO, not a drop of Corona (or any such thing) has touched my lips...but just imagine if it had!

D6 Banquet video 'issues'
At this time I'm not sure what to do with the D6 banquet video. Sadly a number of additions to the memorial portion has proven to be difficult to ad without significant editing and prep time - time I simply do not have right now. Not to mention the downer factor of dealing with so many lost souls...Then there's the fact I used copywritten music on it without permission and many of the web hosting sites are really clamping down on this. It's all leading me to not being able to make a decision on how to deal with it. A couple of people have asked for copies, but regular readers will know those requests must be added to my infamous '2008 video list' that is still a couple of months away from being done.

Became of all these issues and the simple fact I'm still up to my butt with previous video projects I'm sorry, I just have to put it off for a while...if not indefinitely. Because of this I'm gonna have to really take a second look at how I do this for 2009.

Silly season
It's that time of year again when web writers (other than me) get out of reviewing the past year and move into speculating and complaining about the upcoming season. I mean really, why can't there be more positive stuff on all the great racing we will surely see over the next 12 months?

Blaming the economic downturn is too easy. Smaller fields, even less races may be a good thing in many ways. We might not be at the track every damn weekend from 7am to 9pm for starters.

Ok, enuf of the positive crap, lets get busy...

Seems the bracket finals thing is not dead as HH hears a few of the tracks that got the boot are not letting the issue die just yet. I kinda think it is dead, but look for some other 'related' things to maybe happen because of it. Whether this will be a good thing or a bad thing remains to be seen, with the bottom line being there are some very upset track operators out there and a definite 'big-track Vs little-track' mentality that I have not felt around here in a very long time.

Look for some info to come out of MRP soon as this Sunday has the club voting on all the executive positions. Despite the fact this doesn't often result in many major changes, it does mark the point when BCCCA can really move forward with their plans for the new season. Look for the results of the vote either late Sunday or early Monday followed shortly by the 2009 schedule.

The 'I' word on HH
Guess I must have missed something in the IHRA world (which I rarely go into anyway) but this link was sent to me recently and upon doing a quick search of both DRC and the IHRA site (back a couple of months) I could not find a thing. Not the best news but it's just not that big of a deal to me...and I imagine the majority of my readers.

Apologies to my Alberta/IHRA racers friends, but frankly here on the west coast of Canada and the US northwest the IHRA remains a world away. The racing in my back yard has MUCH more in common with NHRA racing in, for example, far away Las Vegas than it does with IHRA racing in Edmonton and points east. Nothing personal, it's just one of those things, and it's not like I haven't made an effort to get info and actually attend IHRA races in Alberta. Those efforts of years ago were completely ignored by both the IHRA and the track, and frankly I have better things to do than go out of my way to give them free publicity. Let me ad that the HH door is always open, and if there was an opportunity for me to move in that direction I would be all over it.

But what have you done for us lately?
Which leads me into NHRA stuff. It appears that Glendora is clamping down on a number of web sites that in the past covered national events by letting them know they are no longer welcome. Then again the big four of NHRA.com, DRC, DRO and Comp+ provide more than enough coverage for this kid as I rarely go anywhere else to get national event coverage as most of the other sites often (not always) simply posted a few photos and press releases.

To make those hard working web dudes even more upset is the apparent fact that this does not effect those in print. If you work for a company with a magazine or newspaper it appears you're good to go to a big race. The part here that bugs me, and a lot of others, is who the hell gets national event coverage from a monthly magazine in this day of same day TV and near instant Internet coverage? Newspapers on the other hand are a loaded bunch that piss off many freelancers when a union shooter takes away 'their' spot on the allotted 'Sunday' restricted area list once or twice a year. Then again newspapers are a dying breed that matter less and less as time goes by. Regardless of this fact NHRA does not seem to realize or care that newspaper numbers are way down, then again they still usually have way more readers than most, if not all, of the now verboten drag sites.

As for the shut out web sites, sure it's free publicity for a series that needs all the publicity it can get, but this is the way all professional sports is going for more reasons than I have the time to get into here. On the bright side, perhaps this will see all those sites now give more coverage to the smalltime races, tracks and racers.

And another somewhat related aspect of all this is the future of 'live' webcasting of drag races. It's no longer happening even on TV at pro races, but at smaller races it is starting to proliferate. Trouble is some officials I've spoken to over the winter have some issues with it - both personal (I won't go there) and legal. One comment I got that really has me thinking is "what if somebody dies out there and somebody else has it recorded at home?" One does not have to realize this opens a huge can o legal worms that could get very, very ugly for everybody from track staff to the people and companies doing the webcast. This example may be a bit extreme, but it's just one of a number of related issues with live webcasting that some officials are currently very well aware of. Because of this HH may not get into something that could prove to be more trouble than it's worth.

Drinks and more
The Eagle Motorplex 2009 schedule is basically complete and it looks like the triple header race is gonna be a go. Not being a racer I don't have a view of it other than it's cool to see management still willing to try new things in a genuine effort to make things better - all the while doing it directly to the racers via their website in a very public, transparent fashion.

Let it be known that I am a huge fan of doing things different and wish more tracks would push the envelope to at least try new and radical ideas that go well beyond the old way of doing things. Change is good in my book, especially when the same-old-same-old ideas have been proven to offer little to potential spectators, racers and sponsors.

Say what you will about Arm Drop, Pinks, Pass-Time and those kinda shows, but they are concepts that have a huge future in a sport too often caught up in the 'good old days'. Sadly most feel that if they can't actually be on TV with the real shows have no idea how to possibly take these radical concepts, make a few changes, and run with them on a local basis. The old ideas of big buck races, events for certain makes or years of cars, etc are old school. Sure they are ok, but with the numbers going down, I feel promoters must do more to slow down the fracturing of the entries into more groups and work to somehow bring them together in a fun and competitive atmosphere. That's the magic bullet that Pinks started and few others have been able to duplicate. One of which being the enevlope-destroying 'Drinks' at Ashcroft. An event that had negative connotations written all over it at first, but which proved to be a big success.

Ya, that title will get a few questions goin...Over in Hitter's house I find it interesting that the site spokaneracewaypark.com is still up and appears not to have been updated since 2005. The current 'official' track site (I think) is spokanemotorsportspark.com . I'm sure the management team over there is super busy with way more important stuff but the fact remains many people are talking about their yet-to-be-officially-announced Lucas race (said to be between Mission and Seattle) and a bunch of other races that are already on some other schedules.

As for the word on the new management for Pacific - I know nothing, I see nothing, I hear nothing.

How to get on HH
Which leads me to the fact that getting info from D6 tracks involves a lot of time going to various sites, making phone calls that are often ignored etc. I just get really tired of having to do it all. Nobody local ever sends us info (i.e. pre-race info and post race results) other than Bremerton Raceway. This also includes most race series in the northwest.

Obviously they don't care or feel it's my job to contact them. Wrongo ladies and gents. Space on HH is a FREE service that you are always welcome to take advantage of should you wish to do so, but I simply will not go to the effort of getting your freebee stuff here all by myself.

THE SOLUTION IS EASY. I know it's a lot of work for track/series staff to do for just a few web sites but there is a very simple solution. Since most tracks/series use their own sites for posting this kind of info, all it would take is a quick e-mail to HH along with a link of where that info/schedule/photo/video/new sponsor announcement/ etc is. Trust me when I say that a link on this site will get that info out to more people than you will ever get simply posting it on 'your' site.

And if you have a site that uses frames and you can't send me a direct page link that doesn't require one having to go thru a slew of pages to find, please don't bother, cause I won't post it. There are ways around such things that good webmasters know, so just send me the actual page, not the site.

Please note this is for drag strips or racing series within the confines of the region that encompasses NHRA Division Six. not just NHRA events, just those in the region. And PLEASE don't send a bunch of photos, results etc. I don't have time to post all that. Simply send a link that has all that to HH and I promise I will post it here asap.

New/old door car for Greg Carlile
I have a new car I will be running this season, it is a 1996 Corvette Pro-Mod.

My plans are to run it in the PSCA races in California, Arizona, Nevada, also some of the local stuff like Door Slammer in Mission and the Div 6 events like Boise, Seattle, and Mission, possibly Woodburn ??? And maybe
Medford.

I may even try to qualify at the Outlaw Pro-Mod race at Mission and Boise, I just need to get some seat time and tuning time to figure out what the car will do. It has a Rodex BBC with 14-71 blower. I'm in the process of getting the car back together recently updated by John Scalpi), so I hope to have it ready in a few weeks.

HH note - Appears to be former ride of Steve Horne and before him Roy Lazik.

Finally a cool link came in that lead me to a bunch of simply bad ass videos of U.S. Navy pilots (among others) who make Fuel Altereds look like kiddie cars.

The 2009 PSCA Racing Season Starts In One Month
The Pacific Street Car Association will begin it's 11th season Feb 6th-8th Weekend with the Hughes Performance Arizona Nationals at Firebird International Raceway in Phoenix, Arizona. Gates will open 10am on Friday, Feb 6th with Test n Tune from 1pm - 6pm... Saturday, Feb 7th will feature 3 Qualifying sessions and Bracket Time Trials with all class eliminations on Sunday Feb 8th.. Gates will open at 7am on both days.

2 weeks earlier (Jan 24-25, 2009) at Las Vegas Motor Speedway the PSCA will have an Official Test Session and Bracket Challenge!!! For more info on the test, log onto www.lvms.com

Happy New year friends! My back's getting better, it's still snowing, and lookie here, we've actually got drag racing news!

First note the addition atop this page of monthly links so you can quickly go back to any month this past year. I call it a lazy man's year in review. Probably won't take it back any further, and remember you can always get back here from most any page on the site by clicking on the HH logo. This'll be a regular deal on this page from here on. And yes my nerdly friends, I looked into a site search function, but couldn't find one that would take less then five minutes to ad on...so jus foget it, I got stuff ta do. Note, the Dec08/Jan09 thing will get set up correctly soon.

Though the economic outlook on 2009 is not real good, we continue to buck the trend with the coming announcement of one, maybe two new advertisers here on HH. Look for that real soon.

Santa bring you a new LCD TV for Xmas?
Make sure you get the most outta that big flat panel by setting it up for optimum viewing. It's quite easy if you know what settings to actually change and believe me the difference is considerable, specially if you actually have some HD content to view. You can either Google your model number with the word settings behind it or go here and look it up. Best bet it to gather up a half dozen or so and play around with them. Again I assure you the settings your panel came with SUCK compared to what it can really look like if you make the effort to fine tune it. You can do it for plasmas too, but I figured if you got one of those you are really into it and don't need me to give ya directions. Hint - you'll need to do this once those HH HD vids start comin yur way in a few months...

Naked Nova
We begin with a cool catch from Rich Carlson. They obviously have some pretty slick cars for sale in the local Everett WA newspaper as this Pro whaaat Nova proves.

Newest northwest 10.5 Outlaw!
He had no fun in '08 putting his old Fox body into the wall during the MRP Pro Mod weekend, but now Mike Dutchek has another Mustang with a 388 inch, single 98mm turbo backed by a Bruno/Lenco 3 speed! No word on an exact debut date as of yet.

One more pic to ad to the Snow Strip page, this time a trailer image from Al Omond, so I guess the race is on to send us the biggest pile o snow disguised as a trailer...bet the Spokane people can win this one.

Finally today we present some wonderful recent work by artist Mark Gredzinski who fills us in:
I'm currently doing an oil painting of Prudhomme's Army Monza in oils which is early days as oil takes so long to dry. Then I'll do more on the Army Vega and the other approx 17 paintings I have on the go. I'm mostly doing classic funny cars as they have always been my first love and I've started on the Sox & Martin Cuda and Grumpy's Toy Vega. Later on I'll do Barrie Poole's Maverick and Pinto Pro Stockers as I was always a fan of the Sandy Elliott cars. I've at least 50 more paintings planned for the next two years. They will include fuel altereds, slingshots rear engined fuelers etc.
